Easter 2012: Soccer Smash Down

Holidays in our family are always amazing, because most of our family lives close so that planning long, fun gatherings is easy. This Easter we went right from Spring Break, getting off a plane to hunting Easter eggs and getting to see all our family. so we woke up did a mini Easter egg hunt to getting ready for the Easter Sunday service in Mammoth, then we all hopped in our cars and drove to our Grandparents house for more food and a killer soccer game.................

Cha Cha Slide

So......... One Wednesday a longish time ago we finished school and walked up to a friends house before attending small group, but a few days before that we had a school dance and at the dance the "Cha Cha slide" played. Anyways, we were all walking to my friends house with my other friend and my sister so we pulled out our maracas and played the Cha Cha Slide on my friends iPod. So we cha cha, and got many strange looks from passing cars and a guy on a bike....still we cha cha'd on. At school that day my friend was excited to show us the prom dresses that she got from her cousin, when we got there we looked through all the dresses and found ones that we wanted to try on. Being the strange villagers that we are you cant just put on a dress and sit there and look pretty in it, no.... for a little bit we ran around the house like turkeys and then practiced decending the stairs and pretended to trip down them :). i found one of the bags for the prom dresses and zipped my self up in it and flopped down the stairs a couple times like a giant green worm. we then ventured to the great out of doors in our colorful dresses and rode the scooter around the cement and when wearing a giant dress its hard to see the scooter. Me and my friends had my sister film us doing the cha cha slide in the drive way and from it, we got the amazing video below =-).

Cha Cha-ing and freaking people out.

Prom dresses!

Thoe it may look like we were "completely" organized we did have some issues throughout the video.........................
-some of us (me) kept messing up left and right.
-some of us (Nichole) couldn't find her knees through her dress.
- And the reason we all look around us, scream and in the end frantically
scatter and run away at the end was because Nichole's mother came home.

Scattering in action. :-)

Thursday: The Best and Last day

Thursday, 4/5/12 was our final day of vacation and sadly the end to our fun in the sun due to the heartbreaking, finger freezing, hope squashing snow storm we were welcomed home too. but the thing that made it the best day was getting to see grandma, grandpa and joy for a long time before we went home to that wonderful white stuff i had almost forgotten about. Anyways here is what we did.....................................................

so i woke up..... and i had a brilliant idea to accomplish climbing a palm tree
the less brilliant part of it was picking the sharp, spiny one with an aunt hill at the bottom and to do it
primate style...aka no shoes:-P.  so up i shimmied.

 ouch...ouch...ouch...

 ouch...ouch...ouch...

Trying to look like i have succeeded as well as smile through the pain.
it hurts a lot worse shimmying down a palm tree barefoot :[. Libby tried climbing it too but started
getting bit by ants so she frantically ran and jumped in the UN-heated pool.

While trying to shimmy down the tree i got an awesome palm tree scratch across my knee,
that also left and awesome scar.... all around awesome!
after that we just hung around the pool for an hour.......

wa cha

This one hurt, almost more than my belly flop.... wa la, sunburn simulator and weird hair instantly!!!

Then after that we hopped in our oven on wheels and drove to the Goldfield Ghost Town,
this was our second time visiting there and the main purpose was to get souvenirs for friends.
 Superstition Mountain and a church

going to dinner!

Dinner at the Outback steak house!!!
Libby, me, Joy, and Justin.

After dinner we were given a tour of the ASU campus!!!!

Joy showed us their really nice practice facility and we got to shoot a couple baskets
in the gym!!!!

There was a huge tv/video cam that showed you what to fix in plays!

Then Joy took us into the women's locker room and showed us her locker!

 Joys "book of secrets".

We then drove over to the Wells Fargo arena where we broke a door:).

We also got to see that locker room as well at the arena!

super cool lockers!!!

after that Joy took us to Yogurt Land!!! where we each at about a pound of frozen yogurt and
hung out with our amazing cousin before we left!!!! joy gave us hand-me-downs which were
apparently salvation army bound, but it was truly an honor and were by far the best ones we've ever gotten!
this is a pic of the usual arguing over who is going to pay :-}
